Wasn't quite sure where to post this, so I stuck it here. Mods please move if it's not right.

I'm in need of a shop where I could store and work on a K5 of mine. I'm renting a room in a subdivision house in Leland, so I don't have the space to work on it or store it. The truck is stripped down to practically nothing, so it will be a lengthy process until I either finish it or move into my own house.

Anyone got any ideas or options for me? Renting isn't out of question.

there's a guy rebuilding a mustang in a storage unit that I use. I only have 8 x10 and his is much larger, but he said it was cheaper than building a garage and it has two power outlets in it. My 8x10 is about $50 a month.

as long as you're not running a business out of one, this is a generally accepted practice at a lot of storage places...

definitely one of the cheaper options as far as renting...

when i lived down in wilmington i was looking into this same thing....quite a few storage places i looked at didnt like the idea....mostly because of "staining" their concrete, and liability issues if you ended up hurting yourself on their property.....

definitely check around...I know somebody on this board that ran a shop out of two units for quite sometime, and it's where my first lift went on a TJ...

property manager had no problem with it as long as it wasn't a "business"...so it was amazing how many cousins the guy had that brought their trucks over for him to work on... :D

It's always interesting to pull into my storage unit. There are at least three hispanic bands that practice, one drummer that's pretty good, the guy rebuilding his mustang, a dude with a weight bench and sound system. You never know who you'll see there hanging out. I don't know if it matters, but mine is a Public Storage facility. I know they took it over so I understand that not all have power in them.
