Winch cable tech.

I was doing some research on winch cables after calling a local company to have one made. They informed me the working load limit of the cable I will be using is 1,950 lbs. I was in disbelief! During my research, I came across this:

Milemarker had a video out a few years ago where they tested several brand winches and their cable broke beyond the pull rating of the winch when others broke before they pulled the rating of the winch.

Why not use synthetic winch line?

Also synthetic line can fray and tear when pulling over Sharp rocks and degrades over time from uv-rays
