I need a winch. I was looking at the 8000 lb smitty built.

While looking I ran across this

Kinda looks like a smittybuilt, does smitty make them for RC? Am I missing something or is it the same winch? Is that where the "RC" comes from in the smittybuilt part #?

Just curious because this one is 9500 lb and is the same price as 8000 lb smitty.
 
there is really only 2-3 winch manufacturers. they all come out of the same three factories, they just get different names stamped on when they come out at the end.

thats not saying all winches are of the same quality...they just all come from the same places.
 
You get what you pay for. I have heard good and bad about smittybilt and rc. I have had a couple Bully Dog winches in the past and had good luck with them. They aren't crazy priced either.
 
I bought a Smitty last week from Rides. Pretty nice.

Anybody got any ideas for theft proofing? Aside from welding the boltheads that is......
