I have a older warn 8274. The sylanoids are bad. The ford sylanoids are the same design, but im not sure if they will work. If anyone knows it will help a great deal. Ive tried to find original ones with no luck. thanks.

I know a lot of folks have successfully used Ford solenoids, but they're not really rated for continuous use. Technically, you should get solenoids designed for the purpose. You can find them on ebay or DB Electrical. http://www.dbelectrical.com/c-3405-winch-golf-cart.aspx

I have an old style warn 8274 winch the sylanoids are bad. Does anybody know if the continuouse duty ford sylanoids will work the same. They are made exactely like the warns just not sure if they will work for a winch.

Throw the entire stock solenoid mess in the garbage. Keep the back bracket, the cover, and the remote plug and harness. Then order one of these:

You can also order a Warn contactor, but they're about $2-300 vs $100 for the Superwinch one.

Ford starter solenoids are only rated for intermittent use. They don't last when you use them in a winch.
