Anyone know of any place local to Morganton that does winch motor repair and/or rebuild. My Warn 10000 works fine with no load, but won't hardly budge my Jeep under load. I am thinking it needs rewound. Pulls so much power that when trying to winch I can't try to pull and help it because it makes the engine of my Jeep sputter due to not enough power for ignition.
Any and all help appreciated
TIA

We ran a rewound on my wifes for a while it didn't last long just replaced it with a brand new unit for like 180.00 from Clemson.
You might be able to upgrade the motor to better unit?

www.wms1.com

They had the best motors, at a good price.

Chip its ~ 1 hour from ya, but Blacks Generator Shop in york does all types of electric motor repairs, including winches.

They did my old Superwinch.
And it was good as new, (of course I toasted it like the 33 time I used it, but that probably has something to do with a k5, 38s and mud touching the frame rails, with a 9k lb winch.

think it was $125 parts and labor...

But Id probably 2nd the idea to uy a replacement motor and do yourself.

Delta Electric in Lenoir does ac and dc motors, they do all of ours from work, give them a call.

Thanks Rich, I will give it a look see when I have more time. I don't get much done when I am working.

Another good option. I will keep them in mind. Might just give ya a shout to get some more info on them.

I called them. And was basically told to bring it in and when he could get to it, he would "see" if he could do anything with it. So, I think I will pass on them. He had never heard of "Warn"
