Months ago I bought an 8000lb winch because it was a great deal for a new smittybilt with synthetic rope line. This was for my mostly stock yj. I've since sold tht yj and bought another yj, this one much more upgraded. 36" iroks, 44/60 axles with elec lockers, custom roll cage tied to frame, 4.3L chevy engine, 700r4 trans, and a 12k mile marker winch. I listed that only for it's weight consideration.

So my question... Should I keep the mile marker because it's 12k lb, or swap it for my new 8k with the synthetic rope? I plan on some wheeling trips, so would the 8k cover me for 90% of problems, and a snatch block cover the other 10%? or do I need the 12k?

keep the one that is most reliable. sounds like the smittybuilt is pretty new. just something to think about...

keep the 12K if its in good working order and keep the lighter one for a multi mount to plug in the rear or where ever you might need a good lighter weight winch to tote around. unless your hurtin for cash. you'll most likely loose some money on the sale unless you got one of those horseshoes up your ass like some folks or you got the 8K for a steal.
