I have a Warn 9.0 RC winch going on our new sxs build. We want to add a regular toggle switch on the dash but Warn doesn’t offer one. This has the 5 pin handheld remote. I cannot find a wiring diagram online. Doesn’t anyone have any experience before I make my own harness to add the dash switch? We do want to tie it directly to the solenoid instead of using the plug.

I have a warn 9.5ti with a 5 or 6 wire remote, don't remember off the top of my head. The remote switch completes the ground circuit and the in or out power circuit, instead of just in or out. I grounded the circuit full time at the winch, then just wired my toggle for in and out like you would a 3 wire.

IIRC it’s best to do with 2 switches.

One activates the winch control for on/off.

The other switch is momentary for in/out.

I did exactly what you are asking about on my dads buggy with exact winch. I can grab pics and/or draw an exact diagram Monday if needed.

From my memory. One switch is for the black/red 12v/ground. This cuts contactor on/off.

Momentary switch connects brown to either white or green.

IIRC. White is winch out and green is winch in

This is for a sxs racing King of Hammers. Wonder if we could just wire it to be hot on ignition on. We don’t want an extra motion to use the winch.
