Window Tint

Chevy makes both the Aveo, and the ZR1 Corvette, too
You sure about that? That Aveo looks an awfull lot like a suzuki?

Is that like the "over 4 hour erection" you get when you take Viagra without a prescription?
Bwahahahaha!

what is the penalty for an illegal tint?
The officer may bring out a razor blade and scratch the hell out of it and write you a ticket or just write you a ticket. The penalty is to have it removed by a shop (Can't do it yourself have to have a recipt for removal of tint.) and have it reinspected. Go to court, show the clerk your recipts for both the removal and new inspection and go on your way. That being said, I've been stopped, well, lets just say numerous times with extremely illegal tint and they 've never said anything about it. Except in Cary, got stopped and ticketed just for window tint. Guess it was a slow day...

by law, they have no right to put a razorblade onto your vehicle unless it was with consent. you just have to get a receipt like noted above, go show up on your court date and talk to the DA when they ask if any vehicle violations have been corrected. it gets dropped, no fine/ no court cost. or pay the fine and then you dont even have to show up. the fine is usually a little under what it would cost you to have the vehicle removed and re-tinted. ha

I don't think window tint is covered by NC inspection. Bring it in with the windows down if you're worried about it.

Window tint is most certainly covered by NC State inspection.

Every station is supposed to have a tint meter to test the tint ( as well as a sample peice to test and calibrate said meter)

35% (+/- 2%) is the spec on all windows on a passenger car, or the front side windows on a truck or SUV forward of the front seat backs, where the rears windows behind the front seat backs can be 0%

do all inspection stations check them ? nope, will they get fined if caught not checking window tint, yetp if the DMV officer sees the occurance.

AND they are allowed to charge you $10 for the TINT TESTING , which pissed me off when I found out about, I peeled the tint off the windows in the inspection lane, dude thought I was nuts.

I went thru all the classes for State inspection, but did my damnest to avoid getting the license because I didn't want to deal with all the crap, too much crap to keep track of, too easy to miss something trivial and get a $110 fine, seen it happen too many times. You don't get paid enough to warrant playing the fawkin game.

oops, well roll the windows down and pull the fuse/remove the window crank. I bet its not mandatory to have windows :flipoff2:
I guess you're screwed if the rear window is past the limit.
