windshield wiper problem

I got an '05 dodge 3500 that the intermitten wipers arent working exactly right. When I turn the switch to adjust them they dont really adjust. They may wipe 2-3-4 times in a row and stop a few seconds and do it again and there is really no pattern or reason. The wipers work fine when I flip the switch for them to be constant. Has anyone had this problem? I just don't want to take it to the stealership and give them a bunch of money but they really got on my nerves driving in the rain today. What's a good dodge forum I could search?
