I just purchased an 88 wrangler with an AMC 360. The wiring under the hood has partially been changed to except the new engine. Computer has been disconected. The engine runs fine the way it is wired, but I would like to clean it up and get rid of all of the extra wires that seem to have been cut. Get rid of any extra parts that are serving no purpose. I guess what I am asking is do I buy a Haynes manual for the 88 Wrangler for everything except the engine and the manual for 80 CHerokee to cover everything engine and then just go Wire by wire? Or is there an easier way? Such as getting some of this online?
Or has anyone done this type of thing before? Thanks in advance!:driver:

Best thing would be an accurate wiring diagram for each vehicle. Haynes manuals might work but their color codes are generic and don't always match the vehicle. A factory service manual, or a vehicle specific wiring diagram from Car Quest or All Data would be best. I just put a '97 5.2L V8 in my CJ7 and used All Data, seemed to work out good for me.
