i have been looking around for a locker for a ford 8.8 (trying to build it before i put it in) and i was just wondering witch locker would be best a cable, air or a electromagnetic not looking to spend my life savings on one and tell me witch brand would be best its for a everyday drive thats hits the trail on the weekend

Thanks

I depends on which 8.8 you get.

If you get the 4.10 version with the Limited Slip, you can add a clutch disk and get good results out the LS, At least I have. Mine is with out the extra disk and I have been happy with the results. Mine choice was money drivin, The LS was in and it was free to try it. So far it has not caused me any issues.

But if you want a locker, Look at doing a full carrier locker, that is selectable. I lean more toward the electric style, ARBs are good but for some reason I feel like it would give me issues. Thats just my opinion.

Also check out the Super 8.8 kit.

Not really an arb fan, but so far it's the only selectable locker that's been worth a shit in an 8.8. I would personally go with a lockrite or a tight used LS like Mike said.
You're going to spend your life savings on any selectable setup.

Which witch is which?

nothing to add here

no matter what locker you go with get some good axles, c-clip eliminaters, and a good cover. I have run a bunch of 8.8 and I am speaking from exp. also get good pinion bearings not the elcheapos from advance auto or the like. If you are going to drive you rig alot I would go with a selectable locker or a LS.

Not sure why there is a discussion...the thread title clearly states that the "Witch locker is best". I think it's made by the same folks that make Ditch Witch.
