I have a 1999 WJ with a 4.0, 150k and a failing 42re. I also have a wrecked 1999 XJ (I loved it too much to get rid of it, only 90k) with a good 4.0 and trans (I haven't crawled under it yet to see if it's an aw4 or a500) . Question is, will the trans from the XJ work in the WJ, or will there be PCM/computer issues (or any other issues I'm not thinking of)?

if they are both 42re's they will be fine. you won't be able to do the aw4 without pcm changes.
