How much snow are the local stations predicting for this weekend? The wife's set on going to blowing rock this weekend but I'm not trying to get snowed in up in the hills

You'll be fine. All you gotta do is get started, and 321 is all downhill from blowing rock. But in all seriousness, they are much more used to snow up there than in the flatlands of NC, and most thoroughfare's will be back to normal in a few hours. I'm sure they have plenty of extra salt and sand they are dying to put out since they haven't really used any this year.

And now it's just Tapp Room and the "Tapp Annex", where Klondike used to be. And some burrito place where Parth used to be.

Thats how much we drank at Flipside/Klondike/Parthenon to make the wimmenz look better. "Plowable amounts"
With the cold coming in probably be a good amount of time spent at the bars

No shortage of those in Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. Any time we go back it seems more time is spent trying to go eat/drink at all the places we miss than anything else.

How's the blowing rock brewery?

Snowed in? seriously?
Your wife wanting to go=+++, take the 81 Cj your profile reads, or, any 4WD and enjoy!
They are calling for 2-4" last I heard, hardly a "snowed in situation" for this area. More of a fun play day.

It probablly snowed 4 inches or so but the roads happened to be in great shape. All it takes is a good inch around home to get people freaked out.
