I have a 72 FJ40 and need some help getting it going.

All I did was replaced the dizzy with a new Toyota part. Now It wont fire. I have tried everything.

Can anyone stop by my place and help me out?? I am located a mile from the Asheville Airport.

Undoubtably. I cant even produce spark at the plug. Coil is new. Dizzy is new. Batt is strong. Hooked up test light to negative side of batt and turn on ign., cranked and the light flashed....which should mean my points are working and have juice.

With NO spark at all there is a problem other than timing. If timing was off it would be sparking, just at the wrong time. But:

1) Find the firing order

2) Turn crank by hand to set first firing cyl to top dead center,
I am not familiar with this engine but you can slide a long screwdriver into the sparkplug hole of some and you will see it top out when the piston lifts.

3) Now, look at the dizzy, the rotor should be pointing to the first firing cylinder.

1- everything works
2- replace coil and dizzy
3- no spark

uhhh try old coil for a DOA part?

:stupid::confused: i'm agree' wires not on right or coil is bad!

''it happens'' forrest gump:bounce2:
