I know that there are a few guys on the board that do hardwood flooring work and others that are knowledgeable as well. We are re-doing our kitchen right now and were quoted about $1,680 to sand and refinish about 600 sqft. (kitchen and hallway) and $400 to replace/repair/add some boards where walls were modified. Just curious if $2.80 sqft to sand and refinish is reasonable?
Thanks,
Fred

Sounds right. I'd Probably be closer to $3.00. More if we were staining. Don't forget shoe molding! That's extra!

If it makes you feel better, the last job i did in that area was $6.00 sq/ft (Bermuda Run). When i finished the contractor tried to not pay but after waking the job he couldn't find any imperfection and paid in full. To be clear, he paid for perfection. But he was between a rock and a hard place with this job. The previous floor guys fucked the floor worse than any I'd ever seen.
