worn down tires

I have 2 tires with 30% more wear than the other two. Is it better to put them on the front or back to go play in the mud or dose it not matter? Thanks for the help

I typically run the tires with MORE tread in the rear... My welded D44 should handle it better, where the D30 (even w/ alloys) is inherently weaker.

This assumes that less tread = less traction = less stress...
