WOW! 751k miles on a 2005 GMC

I literally was just on DP and read that thread. Weird...but yea that is pretty incredible.
For the age of the truck, that is about 300 miles a day for 365 days a year for 6 years.

if you think about it if the calclations are right thats not very hard to do. 300 miles would be like 8? hours a day in that truck and thats not taking any vacation trips. i say he could easily do it the way people drive now. as long as he kept his fluid change regualrly. im not saying i would buy it because i would see them miles and probably faint

751k! it must not have seen much towing time.

300 miles a day for a year = 109,500 Miles a year
109,500 x 5 years = 545,500 for the five years

I am I missing something.

I guess its more like an avg 412 miles a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for 5 years

Only if you drive for a living can i see putting that many miles on a vehicle in that short of a time. And i can't imagine picking this vehicle to do it in unless you are towing or hauling something.

Dude, that's 8 hrs of SOLID DRIVING for 7 days a week. No breaks.
Yes, it's technically possible, but WHY would anybody do that? You have to be driving somewhere for some reason.

And, its probably not been driving for 5 COMPLETE years, I know '05 models were available before Jan 05 but 2010 just started.

I call BS.

Ok 8 hours at 50 mph average would be 400 miles a day....and on the interstate it is easy to average 50 miles.

I drove 96,000 last year on my company car, and thats not counting trips to Miami, The beach twice (OBX and Myrtle) Tampa, and Houston that were on our family cars...so 100k plus is doable, I did it.

My old man drives a 2500 Duramax as an outside salesman and his 06 has 212k on it so some people are using the trucks for work use.

Its an 05, so he could have bought it as early as June of 04...

So in theory he could have 5 years and 8 months on the thing.
Which is about 2070 days.
Thats about 362 miles per day, every freaking day.
Lets assume he is home on the weekend.
Thats only 1478 days
Now you are asking him to drive 508 miles/day...

In all Id say doable, but I'd bet on a chop job.

I have never seen that on a 5 year old truck. I do have some salesman that come in every 3 weeks for oil changes. one of them has a 2000 chevy with 400k on it

We are told to use the GM oil monitor system, I am at 17k and it says my oil has 9% life left....LOL..I bet it never makes 200k

I was figuring the truck to be 6 years old since most models come out the year before, so he might have bought the truck in 2004 though it's a 2005 model.

But it's possible to do that many miles, I wouldn't want to.

:poop:
