This my fall under general tech, but since I'm putting in a new axle, I'll ask it here. I'm about to put a 8.25 in the rear of my 2001 XJ. I have a D35 with ABS now. I know I am going to loose the ABS, but I would like to know the proper way to disconnect it. If anyone knows of a write up on this topic or has suggestions, please post. Thanks

What's wrong with just letting it not work? If it senses a fault in one part of the system it shuts the entire ABS system down. And how come you can't use the 8.25 with your abs? They came with ABS, did they not?

If your XJ has the 8.25, it has no ABS.

If you have the D35, you may have ABS and you might not.

As for the ABS system, some people have had braking problems, some haven't. I'm really not sure what the general consensus is for disconnecting the ABS system.

i dont have time to look right now,as i have an exam in a couple hours, but have you tried searching NAXJA? i would bet that this has been covered in depth over there

thanks

Thanks guys... A couple of people have told me to search nAXJA. I guess thats the next step. I know I can just disconnect the lines and have the light on the dash show, but I was just wandering about getting rid of it all together. You know, for the clean look under the hood.
