Hello,

I got 94 xj 4.0 want to replace the ac compressor as the clutch is shot. I have bought a used compressor from jy. Problem is where the lines connect to back of the compressor the top connector is like 1" and bottom is around 3/4". My old unit is both 1" top and bottom. Is there a way to make this work like a reducer. They are saying that its the correct one. Its obvious its not. So where to go from here is my question. Thanks

Go buy the correct parts, NEW. How good is a junk yard compressor if you going through all the trouble to fix the a/c. Or why not just change the clutch if that's the only problem? This is how a mess gets started:shaking:

Jeep used several different compressors. Sometimes even two Jeeps that are the same year can have different compressors.
GotWood is right, you can replace just the clutch on yours. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even have to disconnect and drain the system that way.

Well all the parts stores I have checked don't offer just the clutch. They say have to buy whole unit. Which I find unreal. Maybe I can just take the clutch of the one I bought and use it.
