has anyone ever used stock yj front springs to make a xj bastard pack the reason i say the fronts is that i figured they were stronger to deal with the engine weight i have front and rear stock yj springs and considered using the longest springs from front and back cut to size to make my xyj bastard pack from i am tring to get 3 to 4 inches of lift in the rear to match my 4.5 front coils any thoughts on this would be helpful

Don't see how it could hurt, try it out. I had to play with mine a bit but I've got it matching my 4.5-5" in the front well.

RE 3.5 main leaf, xj pack and 3" aal that's now 3+years old and sagging a bit. Rides alright really. I don't know how much lift you'll get out of YJ springs though, not exactly a heavy vehicle. Lots of folks use dakota rear packs to make bastards, those are supposed to be stiff but provide a good amount of lift. If you search NAXJA there's several write-ups with lift heights.
