What is the preferred bushing type? I don't really take this thing out often, but I do live like ten minutes from URE, so there is always the possibility.

RUBBER: Smooth, pliable, quiet and comfortableView attachment 88285 & nice riding, that's why grandpa's Buick rides so nice and quiet.....but they dont last as long as poly, they get eaten alive by petroleum pruducts, and tend to dry rot if parked for a while.

POLYURETHANE: Firm, self-lubricating, last practically forever, resistant to petroleum products. AWESOME handling charachteristics inperformance carsView attachment 88285, and really tightens up a suspension......but they tend to squeak, pop out of place under really extreme stress (think of trying to grab a handful of jello) and the ride can be a little harsh for some.

Browsing through some other forums, I think I'll stick with rubber.

Is there any reason to upgrade my control arms from the stock ones? I can spend 80 bucks and get both front LCA's stock, or spend 280 and get heavy duty upgrades. Like I said, I don't take it out too often, because its my DD, but it does see trail time every once in a while.

stick with rubber they last longer, i have a set of aftermarket fixed lowers 16" long with good poly bushings some are new, you can have for 50$ if you want to go that route

Are you running a stock lift? If so there is no benefit to change them for mild use. You can always get super cheap used control arms as spares. The bushings are designed to last the life of the vehicle.

3" lift. Actually the only reason I asked about this was because I had wicked death wobble and had thought I traced it down to the drivers side LCA. Turns out the whole track bar mount was cracked off the axle...no clue how I missed that. The guys at Minton's put on a new bracket and got me back up and running fine.
