xj crank problem

i got a 98 xj and sometimes when i go to crank it every thing powers up but it want crank. i had one b4 that did the same thing sometimes i can put it in neutral and it will crank and others it want. im thinking its the park sensor??? since i have had two and they both did it im sure someone know what im talking about. any ideas on how to fix it i would love to hear. thanks

get a neutral safety switch (NSS).

try to hit the starter with a hammer.. lol mine was doing it and i did the shifter thing like you said and it worked.. tried it another time and it didnt. hammer did though lol
