ok so im trying to get 4" lift cheap on my cherokee.

my question is if i was to take comanche stock rear leafs and bolt them on my cherokee wouldnt that give me about 4" lift just because it would be spring over on my xj vs sping under on my mj. Right now im running stock xj leafs with 3" add a leaf and 1.75 shackle and 2" blocks. Im tring to eliminate the blocks and i think mj springs will do that. Anyone know for sure?

i dont know because the rear of the unibodies are different. the location of the spring hangers are different also. the easiest way to eliminate some axle wrap is some longer peches .... thats if u get rid of the block

you can go to auto zone or advance dont remember which one and get blocks really cheap

i agree, blocks and shackles longer than 1-2in arent the way to go

if you have a friend with a welder, there's other options. as long as you know what you're doing you can lower your stock leaf mounts or run longer springs. you can check the xj thread in the truck gallery.

dakota leaves should give you the lift you want and keep spring wrap at bay. Make sure you put the leaf spring clamps on.

Just try and find a early 90's 2wd dakota. BASICALLY(make sure you make some measurements) you just cut the eyes off the dakota leaves, unbolt and lower the axle, take the xj's stock leaves off the main leaf, and bolt the whole dakota pack to your stock mainleaf. Usually good for 4" lift (varies a little based on the dakotas spring pack) and you could put an inch or 2 inch steel block on it with out issues...in my experience. Make sure the block sits on your spring perch correctly...alot of aluminum blocks  dont fit on the spring perch right and will walk/wallow/split/shear pretty quick.

I havent heard about putting comanchee leaves on a xj. I do believe the springs are too long to be a bolt on.

I have Rusty's 3.5" AAL amd a 1" steel block. Wheels and flexs great. I then added a Rough Country 1.5" or adjust to 2" shackle for a total of 6". AAl was $59.oo from Rusty's. You can probably get the Dakota springs Cheaper. You can also use S-10 springs as well. If you check www.naxja.org there is a ton of info on this subject.
