XJ leafs in a hurry

Need to replace my leafs on the XJ and was wanting some help on finding the best bang for the buck. trying to get these shipped and mounted so I can make Callalantee this weekend. Need to order these today to make sure they get here in time.

I'm looking at:

- RE 5.5" leafs (RE1461) with boomerang shackles (RE2705)
- Rusty's 6.5" leafs (RC-LS450-XJ) with .75" shackles (RC-SH075-XJ)

I believe my current shackles are about 2". They are tweaked so I need to replace them as well. Doing this is likely going to make the rear of my jeep slightly higher than the front. I "think" my current setup is 5.5" via helper springs. I didn't install the stuff so I have no clue what I have. At one time I wanted to step up to a 38" tire, but I'm going to keep this one on 33-35s. I want to use it as an ECORS rig someday.

Anyways, advice and criticism welcome.

--Edit--

Priced out the RE option at RE's website. That's a lot of freaking money in shipping. If I can't find those cheaper then I'll likely be going with Rusty's or trying to run my bent springs for a while.

SubTotal $485.85
Shipping $114.36
Total $600.21

Rustys: $441.90 shipped

Perhaps I should be looking for some Chevy 56s? What do those come out of?

Rusty's are so cheap, that's what makes them attractive. Claytons look to be around $600 (409 + 159) shipped too. Guess I should stop being cheap, but then I don't have that much laying around right now so I guess I'm going to have to run the bent ones or find something used somewhere.

Braxton, I was goin thru the same thoughts when I broke my spring center pin and helper a few weeks ago. But with no time on my side so I got some new springs and yep chris shipping is a bitch. I think I paid 60 in shipping from RVA.

Here is a thought for ya Chris, go down to Spring Service in charlotte. Thats where I got my new Ubolts. Dude bends them right there and hands you some torque nuts too. If you know your measurements I'm sure you could call him up and make some spring packs.
Ask Ricky Bobby too, he says thats where he goes too.

Sup to you bro. Might be short on time if you order something when you wanna wheel TN next weekend.

Not to mention, every single thing I've ever had delivered from rusty's was no less than a week late. Maybe someone local has some for sale or in stock.

Talked to Will up at 4 wheel parts. He's going to work some numbers for me and see what we can do about getting something here in time for this weekend.

I had the rusty's 4.5" springs and they sucked. very stiff, no flex, i could stuff a front tire into the fender and the rear would hardly move.
OTOH if you want to attempt to build your own spring pack I know I have at least one set of factory XJ's to start with and about 20 other spring packs to rob leaves from. I never get rid of leaf springs. Come get whatever you need.

Rustys makes a cheap product....you get what you pay for. I'd pay twice as much for a set of RE's and have it right the first time. If you really want the cats meow buy some Alcans, I used to run those on my XJ after bending two sets of Rustys and sagging out a set of RE's.

I ordered a set from Will @ 4WP. He got me a great deal, but I'm going to run the bent pack for the weekend. I'll just be sure to take it easy.. ;P
