i was wandering if anyone had any suggestions on helping the flex out in a xj with rubicon express 5.5 leafs. the front flexs great but the rear gets really light sometimes. thinkin of revolver shackles to help the flex and id also like to stretch the rear a bit. im running a 8.8 welded in the rear right now also if that helps any.

this is at ure on daniel , little scary !

longer shackles help. but i see you already have them. how does your shackle angle look on flat ground? Lincolnton? we should meet up some time. i'm in lincolnton bout every weekend. have you tried www.naxja.org ? best xj info ever!

your shackle angle seems to have a some effect. i'm running dodge van main leaf to get my shackle at about a 35* angle. the theory is that flatter springs flex better.

I agree, flatter springs flex better. Also you should have between 25 and 35 degree shackle angle on flat ground. Without reworking your spring pack about the only option you have is to use the revolvers. They well at the very least give you more droop. Also when your lifting that tire is your shock all the way extended? Longer shocks might help too.

shackle angle is about straight up and down , very slight angle.

Well that's one of your problems...

Next.. take a leaf out of the spring pack... flatter springs work a lot better... try something like TNT's Ubolt Eliminators if you need a little extra lift. But it looks like you're running 33's/35s'... a 3.5" leafpack is more than enough so you may not need the extra height..

How old is the leaf pack? Have you broken it in yet? Are your shocks limiting it?

EDIT:

BTW Revolvers are CRAP!

revolvers are crazy. the story a guy once told me "imagine rolling down a steep ledge, smash the brakes and see if you dont roll" after imagining that for about uhhhmmm 5 mins he had me convinced.

i second the 3" springs uboltelems and flip the springs to extend the wheel base
or you could just try running some weight in the rig and see if they soften up
