ok so i try to start it,when it finnaly starts it runs real ruff.I push the gas pedal it dies.I crank it back up and bleed the fuel rail and it smothes out and idols fine, like nothing is wrong a few minutes of idiling it starts the same thing.Could it be the fuel pump not working properly?

Sounds like fuel pump or possibly filter. Check your fuel pressure.

What year is it? If it is older there is a porcelin rectangle piece about 5-6 inches long with a spade connecter on each end in the front driver side corner of the engine bay. It is some kind of fuel pump fuse/protecter (I know it sounds weird) Jump it with a paper clip or test wire. I chased that problem for WAY too long. I did 3 different fuel pumps rails injectors. Try the porcelin piece i bet it fixes it.

That porcelain piece is a ballast resistor if I recall correctly, and I am 99% it is for the ignition. It was on every other vehicle it was put on.

Shane did you check fuel pressure?

I havn't checked the pressure yet,i was getting as much info as i could before i started checking things i am going by auto zone tomorrow and gonna pick up a pressure tester any idea of what kind of pressure it needs to be,Rokinxj it is an older xj 1987 4.0 there is a little porcelin piece on it i was trying to figure out what it was it's not attached to the firewall it's just lying there with two wires connectd to it

after changing a few sencors, egr valve and a few bad words,it was the fuel pump runs better than before,to bad didnt get it done sooner i would be going to mt city today
