Whats up NC4x4,

so, today i went to the 4 wheel parts customer
appreciation in Raleigh.. and surprisingly on the raffle
award & got myself a free XRC8 8,000LBS winch..

I have a xj, and i need to find a cheap bumper..
i don't have much money, i am a high school senior
getting ready to graduate.. i pay for all my stuff.
and live with my girlfriend so money can be a pain in
the a** sometimes.

anyways, i went online did some research and
came across this...

Anyone heard of these guys?
I saw some links, and so far they have gotten
great reviews but i just want to see a few more
opinions before i go ahead and buy it.

Let me know, thank you!

if i were you i'd go with l and l. $200 for a winch bumper....hard to beat that.

Make sure what ever bumper you get that it has plates done the frame. If it just uses the factory bolts it'l rip out like this.

yep. anything with a tow hook reciever or has the potential to pull harder than a large dog on a chain should use alot more than the factory mounting point front or rear......

sheet metal doesn't add up to the pull rating of any winch not even a a "harbor full of it 1500lb bugger puller"

My XJ weighs in at around 4500 pounds now. I winch with my bolted on bumper all the time. Mine is fastened with grade 8 hardware and is not reinforced. I consider myself lucky thus far. :) Most of mine are straight pulls, but I've done my fair share of sideways pulls. Despite my luck, it's still a good idea to plate the frame before bolting on your bumper.

my neighbor bought a bumper from the guy in mt. airy and it's pretty nice. the money was right too. it used more than the factory bumper bolts on the front sheet metal. i helped my brother build his xj bumper and he was wanting to build it really thick and reinforced. i told him it doesn't matter how strong the bumper is he's still bolting it to sheet metal.
