Allright all, i have searched and haven't found anything from past posts, so here we go. My 93 XJ sport front windshield wipers (really only the one on the passenger side) over rotate and hit the bottom. not so much of an issue other than when it rains, the constant banging sound makes me want to kill myself. anybody ever adjust one of these things before? it probably just needs a screw tightened, or something.

thanks!

There are bushings installed in the wiper linkage that more than likely have worn out. There are no adjustments on the linkage at all. If you pull the linkage you will see the bushings that I am talking about. You should be able to get these from the dealer. If not, hit the junkyard and get them out of an newer XJ.

Lift the wiper arm up and at the base is a small part that you slide up that will hold the wiper arm away from the windshield. Now you can wiggle the wiper arm and remove it from the splined shaft. Move it up 1 spline and reseat it and drop the lock back in position.
