Would you guys be scared to buy an XJ with 300k miles? I have the opportunity to buy a rust free 1996 Cherokee Sport with 311k on the body/trans. Engine was replaced two years ago out of another '96 model that had 105k on it. Great oil pressure and is pretty quiet compared to most 4.0's I've heard :D Guy daily drives it 7 days a week. He seems to be very meticulous with how he maintains it. Has a 4" rough country lift installed by Rides Of Conover, totally rebuilt front end (all new ball joints, trac bar, steering stabilizer, pitman arm etc). New banks torque tube header, cat back exhaust, 15x10 D window wheels with 3/4 tread 33/12.50/15 tires. The paint and body is in good shape. Seats could use some love but it has a brand new headliner. Priced at $3,500. Years ago, this price would seem very high but the way it is with XJ's now I almost think it's priced fair to find an XJ that isn't all beat up and abused.

I would not buy it at that price but I would not be afraid of a high mileage jeep. 4.0s are tanks and if maintained run for damn near ever. Mine has 273xxx on it all original. Unless its perfect he would have to come down alot for me to buy it.

I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage. I would be suspect of the mileage on the motor being accurate though.

As for the price, I've sold 2 with around 250k for $3000-$3500. Both were stock and in good shape.
