So I recently got a good deal on a set of drop brackets and installed them on my XJ. Right now I am sitting around 5 inches in the front. I put a set of Grand Cherokee factory control arms on when I installed. Now since I have put them on I have found my jeep gets "dead steer" where when I am turning my jeep tends to stay in the turn instead of returning back. Also since the install I have found my jeep wanders to the driver side. I have adjusted the track bar to try and true the front end up along with the toe but the problem still exist. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What lift height correction were the drop brackets designed for, and what's your lift in the rear??

I'm guessing there's something different with the length of the new control arms (the internets say they're the same length though), unless the bracket drop is asymmetric and has rotated the axle. Sounds like something rotated the axle, like was just posted above. Castor is too slack.

The brackets are for a min of 4.5. I have around 5 inches in the front and around 5.5 in the rear. I do feel like maybe the grand cherokee lower control arms are a bit shorter than my stock cherokee xj's and would create a negative caster.

Pull out the take measure and check. The internet has conflicting information. Hope you still have the stock arms.

I also see from doing some reading that you have front-to-back adjustment at those stock lower control arm mounts, and some drop brackets have them too. I think you probably have all that jacked up somewhat if all four of the control arm mounting points are adjustable. My knee-jerk answer is to take it in to a shop that is competent with XJs and these kinds of lifts, or a real alignment shop (not a Firestone or the like that has a machine operator, they may never get it right).
