every year we go through some problems with the jetski it seems this year to be something with the starter, when i go to crank it up, the only noise is a hummm from the starter, it dosnt sound like its wanthing to start up. any ideas?

assuming the battery is good, sounds like it might be rusting up during the off season. try tapping it with something and see if that frees it.

The bendix isn't engaging the flywheel.
Next year, take the starter out and keep it inside during the off season.

The bendix won't ingage with low battery voltage however the motor will spin.....so...have you checked to see if the battery had ENough voltage?
I went through the same problem with my boat this year and had the same problem with my sea doo in past years. I guess from now on I'll have to run it every once in a while during the winter....can't understand why I'd have this problem on a 1 year old boat with 10 hours on the motor....
