heres the skinny, 93, 4.0, 5 spd, sye done, had 8.8 rear, 30 front, vac disco gone, solid shafts, supposedly chromoly, any way to tell that, 4.10 gears. has 3.5 lift spring, sua, confer shackles, maybe 1/4 lift and has 3 inch body lift on 35 inch tires. runs well, has plenty of power. so should i run 33s, or 35s, not real happy with a body lift that big, also can you flat bottom the skid plate on a yj. any help would be good. ready to get to work on this. winch, lockers and so forth, and while your at it, what locker should i go with on the 8.8. thanks, for you help.

I'm running 2.5 springs in the front, 4 inch in the rear, both Rubicon Express Extreme. I've also got a 1" BL. I get a bunch of rubbing in the back, some in the front with the 33/12.5 TSL's.

I'm really liking the Eaton E-locker I have in the 8.8. Almost 2 years on it with NO problems. Stay away from the Auburn Ected (crap).

I've been running stock TJ shafts and a lockright in my D30, no problem with the shafts or ring and pinion. It's the U-joints I tend to break. I've got the 297X in there now, same as a D44. So no sense in moving up for me (yet).

You can run a flatter skid but probably not totally flat skid with a 1" BL. You might could make it totally flat with a 1" BL if you are willing to dent your floorboard to make room for the SYE and driveshaft. With a bigger BL though you could probably go totally flat. You will need a 1" Motor Mount Lift though. Brown Dog on Jeepforum makes and sells them pretty cheap and has good service. This past summer when I went SOA I made a separate crossmember to tuck up my tranny and all. This is convenient when you want to take off the skid plate because you don't hafta worry about the tranny falling down.
