You can run a flatter skid but probably not totally flat skid with a 1" BL. You might could make it totally flat with a 1" BL if you are willing to dent your floorboard to make room for the SYE and driveshaft. With a bigger BL though you could probably go totally flat. You will need a 1" Motor Mount Lift though. Brown Dog on Jeepforum makes and sells them pretty cheap and has good service. This past summer when I went SOA I made a separate crossmember to tuck up my tranny and all. This is convenient when you want to take off the skid plate because you don't hafta worry about the tranny falling down.
