I have a 3 inch body lift on my 89 YJ and would like to take that off and get a 3"-6" coil spring conversion lift. Anybody have any ideas of where I can find a good lift for a good price. I would like to spend less than $1000. What should I look for in a kit? Thanks guys!

for less than $1000 your not going to find much. maybe you should look into a yj spring lift. what are your future plans with the jeep as in tires, axles, road use? if you ever plan anything over 33's you may look at a soa with 8.8 swap and sye in t-case.

I have 33s on it now. Its a rough ride right now, I feel every bump in the road. What are the benefits to having a coil spring conversion? I've found kits for $1500 and I'm not totally against spending that much but I was wondering if it would be worth it? I'm not looking to go 4x4 too much so this would be more for everyday comfort.

A shackle reversal will make it ride better on road, not really much difference off road... unless you really get down to it. Better shocks help too!

What I'm trying to do is give my jeep the attention it deserves. I've had it since 03 and the past 3-4 years, I havent put any money into it other than keeping it on the road. I just bought a new hard top for it today and it's like I've fallen in love with it again. I was going to buy a car but I have decided to just put the money I've saved into my Jeep. It is my first car and I can't imagine getting rid of it now. Its been good to me. I have never replaced the shocks but it's getting close to that time and I've always wanted to do a coil spring conversion but it will not be a smoother ride, I would do the cheaper of the two. Thanks for the responses.
