i broke the driverside shaft on my dana 30 and i just got a cherokee shaft but it is not fitting in correctly, are they different??

yep, they are different. My TJ broke one, I replaced with an older style xj anti lock brake style and it made all kind of bad noises when applying the brake. I was told that something was different, but dont remember exactly what. It got me off the trail though.

Allthough they are different, mine actually did "fit" enough to get home anyway.

yes i orginally had taken out my broken shaft and was just runnig the nub and the hub. but i pulled one from an xj and its not fitting correctly,

anyone have a spare shaft laying around??? i need one asap

thanks

You can drive without one, just take the whole broken side out until you find a new one
NO!!!! you can't..not the whole shaft anyway. You need to at least leave the stub shaft (broken or not) sticking through the unit bearing with the nut on the end tightend to hold the bearing together.

Sry thats what I meant, just left it out.....

I have a few, but they are in greensboro.....i'll be there tomorrow night to saturday afternoon if you wanna make the haul but you can find one closer
