Hey guys I’m new to jeeps and just recently got my first one a 1988 yj. It has a 2” body lift on it already but I’m wanting to go higher probably enough to clear 33’s. The jeep is just gonna be a trail jeep and maybe just a little rocks here and there. I was wondering how much suspension lift would be needed to clear 33’s with the body lift still on the jeep and also how much lift can I go without having to stretch the drive shafts. I’m on a budget so I am looking to save some coin. Thanks for any and all help guys.

If you can get them to fit with a little body cutting around the fenders to clearance you'll get ideal handling and save a ton of money. Your gonna have to get different rims to fit the 33's because of backspacing on the stock rims anyway so keep that in mind. Sure it may be close but guys are making huge tires fit without a lift all the time. But that's just my .02

Yeah, may need aftermarket rims if you want to run 12.50"s. 33"x10.50" might work on stock rims, would be close. Maybe an add-a-leaf and or extended shackles along with keeping the body lift to clear the 33"s without fender trimming. My son ran 33"s on a YJ with 3" body lift but it was a street rig, little flex, and they rubbed occasionally.

thanks for all the help so far guys. first a question, whats a "high-line" sorry maybe a rookie question. next off say I was thinking about a spring over conversion could i do that without lenghtening the drive shafts? and how much lift would that give if I used the stock springs?
