YJ Spider gears

Easier no.
Spyder gears are in the carrier. Just pop the carrier in and out after you pull the axles.
Swaping and axle has more steps but could also be done.

Don't know about the xj yj swap

An XJ axle won't just bolt into a YJ. You would have to weld on new perches and if you're going to do that you might as well swap in a Waggy 44 for the same amount of work. Spiders are really easy to install. They're just frustrating the firs time or two. The only "hard" part is getting them lined up on the right teeth which might take a few attempts if you've never done it before. If you have a Chiltons or Haynes manual it will take you through all the steps in more detail than I have.

First get the axle up on jackstands

Then

1. pull diff cover
2. remove center pin retaining bolt (1/4" 12 point)
3. slide out center pin
4. push in on each wheel and slide c-clip out
5. slide axles out about 6"
6. push on either the top or bottom spider gear and the whole gear setup will rotate and the top and bottom gears will fall out
7. remove side spider gears

Assembly is the reverse of the steps above

Just go slow and pay close attention to the way everything comes apart and you shouldn't have any problems

if you need spiders for a d30 or d35 i've got plenty of them here.

or bring it by and i'll put them in for you.

just give me a call if you get it and want to swap out the spiders...but i'd look at the rear diff before buying it to determine if this is really all it needs.
