YJ steering?

:confused: Here is what maybe a dumb question...

The stock steering components on my 95 YJ look to be worn out. The rubber boots that hold the grease all look like they are cracked. When I try to pump grease into them it all leaks out. I have seen the reverse Y steering setups on the quadratec type sites, but can I retain the stock set up which seems to work fine now and replace the boots? Is there another type of upgraded end I can use that may work better that the rubber boot?

There is also a high pitched sqeak that come out of the passengers side when the vehicle is in motion. When I apply the brakes the sound goes away. Is this related to the steering or something completely different?

Those are just dust boots really. Grease is going to come out no matter what. If they are worn out you can get replacement stock steering parts from Quadratec.

Squeek could be anything from front U-joint on drive shaft to just brake dust. sorry hard to help with that. Good Luck
