ok so i bought a set of 4inch lifted leaf springs for my 1987 jeep yj and was wanting to know if anything other than the drop pitman arm and shocks are need. such as the transfer case being lowered? pm me or just reply on thread thanks!!
its not black and white, try it and see what works for you.
If you get vibes, lower the t-case, or slide a wedge in the rear spring pack.
You might be able to get by without extending the brake lines...flex it out in your driveway, see how much slack there is in the factory lines. If they're tight, you should extend them.
You might 'need' bigger tires after the lift, and then regearing the axles would be good to get some performance back. Of course no one would bother regearing a Dana 35, sounds like you need a rear axle swap.
you can relocate the brake hardline to the bottom of the frame, this is usually enough for this size lift. gives some slack in the line.
as was said, if you have vibes you would need to lower the t-case about an inch.
then if you still have vibes, get the wedges so the rear pinion points up a little more.
disconnect sway bars and trackbars..and throw them in the trash. if it feels too tippy, you would need to keep the sway bar but the links would need to be extended.
when I first lifted my jeep, I drove around on 33s with my 3.07 gears for a couple of months--then I almost went crazy from it being so sluggish. I could never use 5th gear.
I got an 8.8 geared 4.10 and then a d30 from a 4cyl wrangler (4.10) and was all good to go!
it is definitely not black and white...just try it out and see what happens. I would put money that you will need to lower the t-case at a minimum, though.
