yo

Eminememememem.
try harder.

is this an offical hijack yet? funny nontheless.

I just want to know how many of us (of the correct age and locale) will admit to owning at some point a megabass car stereo system and using it correctly?

If you consider 2 - 15 inch JBLs with 2- 800 watt clarions and a couple of k-mart 6x9s a mega base system then......I did!!

All that in the back of a Plymouth Horizon!! I used it correctly too! I picked up chicks on Stratford, scared old folks everywhere, and got a a couple warnings in Elkin...back when cruisin' was rad!(do we still say RAD?)

oK oK..I GOT ANOTHER ONE..TRY THIS.................

Crusin' down Broadway, My wheels spin slow, rollin in da Benz,
is tha only way to go.....32 and Union, my driver broke left,
someone shouted ''Broadway'' now its time to get deaf....

who dat?

Oh yes, about hi-jacking a thread....The title said ''YO''

The thread contents are ''Hey''

This thread was begging to get jacked!

Kind of like hi-jacking a hot air baloon..Right?

Sir Mix-a-lot! Posse on Broadway.

"In my 18-wheeler, lookin' real swass,
All the girls smile 'cause I'm the big boss!"

Yeah, I was always more concerned with quality, but I did have a CV 15" in a 5cf ported box that would hit around 135-140db. :D I did, and still do, listen to Hip-hop. Not mainstream crap, but real Hip-hop.

yeah boyee...das da man right derr.

ok... heres another.

na, na, now super man looked up at me, he said you rock so naturaly, i said now that you've learned to deal, let me tell you why im the soul for real...im cozmo D, from outer space

Yall ain't got nuthin' on my 2 rockford fosgate 12's behind the seat of an '83 yota powered by a 50 watt Jenson amp from Wal-Mart blastin' Garth Brooks!

WOW! all that from a yo and a hey? impressive.

Ya, should scare off anyone who may actually have something useful to contribute.

Well done !

Yo Baby-D- thats the 102 jamz song that they played on loop for a week back in the day when they were just getting started- 'Jam on it'

its CRAZY how many chicks you can get in the back of a CJ and still be legal on Stratford fri/sat night. but the area behind the seat was good for only 2 tens due to limited volume.

but, and heres the REAL test as to who was paying attention if you listened to their (102jamz )mixes at about 10 oclock. I am still trying to find out who it is, but between songs this old woman would come on and say 'I put one leg in the microwave and one on top of the Clorox bottle' and on and on, then after the next song she'd switch positions. I was absolutely hilarious.

Mix-a-lot, NWA, Miami bass of any flavor, yes I was guilty and will still scare the neighbors occasionally since the '05 Legacy is bumpin a kicker 12" - but its more for drum solos like Metallica's 'One' or 'my name is mud'.

Thats funny that you used Mettalica and Primus in the same sentence.
Back in the day, Mettalica was trying out for a new bass player. They passed on the now bass player for Primus.
The reason.....He was just to damn good for this band.
He went on to play with Primus, which, coincidentaly is a band in which the BASS rocks and IMO is the band.So basicaly IMO
Primus is built around a Mettalica reject!!

Les tried out for Metallica after Cliff died. They didn't think he was a good fit for the band. I personally think he would have been an INFINATELY better influence than Jason Poohead. However, that's who they chose, and in my opinion, that's when the band started their decline. I thought that when they picked up Rob Trujillo from Suicidal Tendencies/Infectious Grooves, they would find some of that thrash/funk/orchestral feel that they lost when Cliff died. However, they put out St. Anger, and I cried a little. I rock the first three albums almost religiously, but anything after that annoys me.

Now Primus, that's another story. They're a band that seems to withstand the test of time, maturing a little as they get older, but not straying from their roots. In other words, they still kick ass! Their version of 'Talliky's "The Thing that Shouldn't Be" is incredible, and James Hetfield worked with them on one song on the album "Anti-pop". It was really pretty good.

Gotcha beat: 6x9 Jensens in sealed home-made truck boxes powered by a hand-me-down 40Watt Jensen amp. I had a Pioneer 18Wx2 headunit (with Dolby tape!) pushing speaker-outs to the amp, used the line-ins to pump tunes from my 10-sec anti-shock CD player mounted on the glovebox door with velcro. And a soundfeeder FM transmitter to get the sound to the Pioneer to pump through my 1" Neodymium tweets on the kick panels! I was ROCKIN' in my 80' Dodge (Mitsu) D-50!

Later I got a hand-me-down 10-disc that I slide behind the seat. Always had issues with it locking up though...

This thread is great. Yeah, I'll admit to having two 12" earthquakes, 1000W peaks, 800W RMS, double bandpass box, 2000W earthquake amp.. in the back of my 4runner. It's loud, but doesn't get used that much. However, when I do, it gets noticed. Yooo!

Now Primus, that's another story.

Soooo.... back in like '91(?), on a whim I bought a ticket to see Rush (Dean Dome? Can't remember). Just 1 'cause I was a 15 y/o idiot and none of my then-buddies were interested. Well since it was just 1... I nabbed the 8th row.
Opening act was Primus. I'd only vaguely heard of 'em (this was before even Sailing the Seas had been released).
I was blown away. When Les Claypool played Cashmere with a bow on his bass, I was speechless. And being a drummer, Herb became my new idol. Needles to say Rush was awesome too - but I left wearing a Primus shirt. Which, sadly, I still have and wear occasionally when doing garage work. Wow, that must be the oldest peice of clothing I own.

Currently I'm Rockin' with a refurb Sony Xplode $100 HU and matching 6x9s in the rear. Word, G.

yes, Rush rocks but theyre not for everybody.
Remember before we could get separate component speakers and we just cannibalized home speakers? Then bought MDF by the plank and went at it.

Those damn blue collar tweekers....:lol:This thread is gettin somewhere now!

Just happened to have a good conversation at the bar tonight with some friends about mosh pits from back in the day. I'm off to Mexico in the a.m.-yall have fun.

Dont talk about mosh pitts:flipoff2:

I stand about 5' 5 now, back in early 90s, maybe shorter.
That puts my face at about ELBOW level with most moshers.
Needless to say i got smashed in the face a few times.
One time in particular....Went to see Bush at Hornets training center....The Goo Goo Dolls were the opener....Having fun, dancing with chicks...music starts rocking harder:Rockon:...girls dissapear....all of a sudden, I find myself in the middle of a very rowdy pit. Just as i'm thinking"Damn, gotta move on outa here" Whamm! I got smashed in the grill so hard , all I remember is getting up. My mouth was pouring blood. My upper and lower eye teeth had went through my lip and hit each other, so hard it chipped BOTH teeth(inside the lip meat) I had a tooth chip in my lip and could blow smoke through the hole in my lip..That was rough....NO MORE MOSH PITS FOR ME.....EVER!!

I think whoever smashed me, probably did it on purpose and laughed with friends later and was like" Dude... I just stole some kid that never saw it coming" I just hope that dudes elbow or fist or whatever i was hit with , hurts like hell for ever!!

I had almost every album that primus had out at one point and time, but then some skank at a super bowl party stole all my cd's. So now I have to download them all and burn them to a disk and I still cannot find most of the songs just the ones that were on the radio all the time.

As for a stereo I have a Kenwood HU and 6 1/2 sony explodes front and rear. I had 2 15" Rockford Fosgates power series in a ported box, 1000watt rockford power series amp per speaker, 2 guage power wire and monster cable speaker wire and 5 farred power cap. The 15's hit so hard it tickled your ears and made your eyes jiggle. After a few months of that I realized that it was too much and got rid of the massive subs and amps, now I just have one 15" rockford fosgate punch and a 400 watt kenwood amp.

Frizzle Fry used to sound real good on my Kicker 12s in the back of my 85 S-10 Blazer, with a stock tape deck  ....
