i'm not a yota guy, and my buddy got a 1980 yota pick up with straight axles.
what is the axles that come in it?
hes looking to lock it or mini spool it, any recomendation on cheap lockers. hes working on a small budget. so even a lock right is pretty expensive for him as of right now.

whats the max tires the stock axles can hold? (20r isnt big but still like to know the axles strength)

Weld the rear and put a Lock Right in the front.

x2.

I ran welded front and rear for a few years in one I had. It works and is cheap but puts a lot of stress on the front. Not to mention is is beeotch to steer.

I'd put a lock right in the front. With 31's he won't break anything (birfields) and the street manners will be unchanged. He won't even have to re set up his gears if he follows the directions. I put a lock right in the rear on my stock yota and one time made it all the way to the ledge on Daniel in 2wd. (unlocked the hubs instead of locking them.) But in a parking lot when turning at part load it unloads and causes the herky jerky. (looks kinda like someone who doesn't know how to drive a strait drive)
