I bought a truck off here a couple of days ago, this being my first yota. My question is will taco rear leaf springs work on an 84model?? i can buy a taco rear leaf pack ALOT cheaper than leaf springs for the 84. I am on a budget and looked into trail gear, allpro and chevy and ford leaves. i dont want to buy relocating brackets. what should i do i want good flex and want to take these 4inch blocks out to reduce axle wrap.

How good a welder are you? Your best bet for the '84 is to go to the junk yard and get some 63" Chevy Springs off a 4wd Chevy Half ton. I got mine off a 2wd and (while I'm not totally sure) I think you'll get more lift from the 4wd's. I still need to add more lift to mine to level it out.

Odds are you will have to cut the old hangers off and weld new ones in with most anything you do at this point. 4" is a lot to just get some bigger arch same length springs. It'll ride like ass and not flex well at all.

I have some that will work for $100. I think they are about 3" lift. Add a longer shakle and you will have a good setup.

I might be interested i am on a budget right now car insurance is due this week may have the cash next weekend though thanks for the post!!! i will give you a call and see if you still have em.

ones from a 89 will work. but you need to relocate the front bracket. not hard just buy 1 pc of channel and cut it and drill it. clean both it and the frame and tack it up. shouldn't have any drive shaft problems. then weld it to the frame.
