My question for the Pit advocates is, do you guys not agree that Pits have a predisposition to being more aggressive/protective/whatever word makes you feel better? Most folks buy dogs based on general personalities, sure there are bad apples for all breeds, but on the whole, you know what kind personality you're getting with a breed. I'll buy the nature/nurture defense to an extent, because I know pits are a status symbol in some demographics, and with the upbringing those pits have, it exposes their aggressiveness...so the data can be skewed because there probably are more bad owners of pits...which result in bad dogs. However, I don't believe the victim in the original post, or most of the stories that make the local news are all bad owners.
