Not to be rude or anything, but you live in Charlotte, use sound judgement. UNCC is almost as bad as ECU when you get just outside the campus.

yea i mean i knew the risk but when this place where they have hired security misses something like that. I wasnt to mad when I saw they had gone through the console and glove box because there was nothing important or valuable in there. I got mad when I saw they took the MOLLE bags off of m rear seat cover. Had all of my equipment and tools in it. I never had a problem in my old place with theft.

If it aint bolted down, its gone. When I was at UNCC, my YJ was parked at UT North one night and some scumbag unzipped the rear window, climbed in, and stole the tape-deck radio!!!

gonna back shawn up on that one. Its Charlotte. look at the crime statistics. Dont leave your stuff where someone can nab it..ya know why? its gonna get nabbed.

dunno what kind of insurance policy you have, it might replace some of your stuff. IF yo have renters insurance it might cover it too. but more than likely, it wont meet the deductible, or will cause your insurance to go up.

Now put some valuables in it and have a stake out an when you catch the little hood rat make sure that stealing won't ever cross there mind again in your own special way. Broke hands can't pick up other peoples shit so easy.

haha you got that right, maybe they will try to come in next time, where the real surprise is.

As for bolting things down, for sure is the best idea. the items that were stolen were part of a smittybilt seat cover and i guess they looked cool. I just hate how dishonest and low people are today

the what? how long you been outta college?
that was around 1998 or 99 and the YJ had the factory tape-deck radio that instead of a removable face, it had the removable chassis. The thief stole the chassis, but didn't bother stealing the part the chassis plugs into in the dash!
And Charlotte cops don't come out to take a report when something is stolen from your vehicle. They just do it over the phone. Or at least that is how it was back then.

In the last 6 months I have gotten several lessons in not trusting anyone. especially ones you thought were a friend. it will change the way you look at people.

Yeah thats what I've heard, i'm staying on campus in lynch at uncc. I have managed to figure out that the parking service is the second source of income from the school. Been seeing alot of yellow slipd everywhere.

Generally on the UNCC campus and surrounding area, there are a lot of break-ins (mostly cars), just make sure you keep valuables out of site. I second the statement "I have managed to figure out that the parking service is the second source of income from the school" With passes sold at $395 it is pretty much robbery. Also, tickets they issue are now $80 and reduced 50% if payed within the first week.

Do they pursue tickets if your car is not registered with the school, or you dont attend school there?

I know here at ASU, plenty of people who aren't affiliated with the University anymore just park there cars where ever, and the school rarely pushes them for the ticket money.

My little bro lived at one of the town house/apt complexes within a mile from UNCC's campus. He was one of the back town homes, with doors facing the woods. Around Christmas time, he went back twice to his front door being kicked in, as well as his bedroom door kicked in and his stuff rummaged through. Now he lives with the folks and commutes from Salisbury.

We actually moving out of Charlotte up to Kannapolis mainly because of the crime here. Our neighbors were broken into and had stuff stolen during the day. My Jeep has been broken into twice and only had a broken GPS, cheap power inverter, and $2.50 flashlight from Auto Zone stolen. Some guy scared my 12 yr old little girl one day when she was taking the trash out ( went out to find and beat him but he was gone ). Couple all of that with the noise from the neighbors, road, PO, FD, and Taxes here Charlotte just plain sucks. It's gotten to the point that I check on the Jeep 2-3 times a night before going to bed at around 2 am. If you don't want it stolen don't keep it in the open.

yeah man i know what you mean on the U Vill... my friends had a apartment up there and they had there vehciles broke into a couple times and had radios GPS's and cameras get stole....and then also had a couple of attempts that ended up with door locks and handles broke... just keep a look out.. and good luck!

Never leave anything of value in a soft top Jeep. That's my #1 rule, and as a result, I've never had anything stolen. Leaving ANYTHING of any real or perceived value in a Jeep is just asking for it to be stolen

The more I do to my jeep the more I dread it being stolen/getting gone. If it gets gone I don't don't know if I can bear starting over.

Then I think, if it did get gone, buy some 1500-2000 buck dd beater, and get started on a buggy.:driver:

u vill is bad, no gate and i know that partying there the "security" that they hire is either sleeping or partying with us so don't count on your stuff being safe by them, i have a soft top 4runner and live in charlotte and i have not even put a radio in it because i know that it will just get stolen, u vill is bad though good luck catching the douche though
