The funny part about the entire thing is the folks in DC don't know what side of the aisle to line up on for this. 1/2 loved and 1/2 hated him for the hillary email thing just before the election. Now 1/2 love him and 1/2 hate him over the trump russia fantasy. They are popping their heads up all over the place like a game of whack a mole.

Comey clearly has a knack for sticking his foot in his mouth every time he gives a conference or testimony.
Trump really should have just waited 3 days until after his hearing w/ Congress and then fired him, after he inevitably blundered again, instead of making it look like he was afraid of what Comey would say about the investigation.

But Trump is clearly not known for being patient...

The media surrounding the entire Russia thing is so damn confusing it's ridiculous but what I read yesterday said that the guy from DOJ that recommended the firing of Comey is the guy in charge of the Russia thing. It that's a fact then I'm not sure how his firing matters to the Russia probe. He is still able to be given a subpoena to testify and all documents are still property of the FBI. Anyway, Obummer should have fired the guy after the entire email back and forth fiasco to begin with.

It wasn't the FBIs role to decide to not press charges. That is the job of the prosecutors at the DOJ. Since it has been proven that laws were broken, send it forward. I'm sure there are a bunch of agents at the bureau that would love to see it go in front of a judge.

Or we can use her line, "at this point, what does it matter".

Has it been proven that laws were broken?
Or just policy. There's an important difference.

The FBI didn't decide not to press charges, the DOJ did (not).

What is equally troubling is the 2nd paragraph of Trump's letter.
It is a long-standing regulation for the FBI not to confirm to deny when someone is under investigation.
So either Comey flagrantly broke that - and Trump is flaunting this, also incriminating his own participation, or he made that up and included it just to try and quell the discussion about it.

Sending classified info outside the government intranet to an unsecured server in the bathroom closet. Said classified info read by lawyers with out proper security clearance, never mind the folks charger with looking after said server had no security clearance.

Is this not breaking the laws on the books?

Not technically.
We have been through this many times before.

Is it sleezy? Yes. Is it against regulation? Yes. Has anybody found where a law, e.g. criminal action, was actually broken? No.
Hence DOJ dropped it. Didn't have enough evidence of probably winning a case to justify the cost of continuing forward.

Bullshit. Comey said there was evidence that she broke the law, but they couldn't prove mens rea. But mens rea doesn't matter in classified information breaches. He also said that he thought the DOJ was compromised and wasn't capable of determining whether or not to press charges, so he made the call.

This was dropped exactly the reason Shawn said. Also, guilt is determined in a court of law, Since this never went before a jury then the proof is not presented thus a judgement of guilt cannot be determined. However, with lynch gone, comey gone, depth of the liberal swap getting lower and lower. Clinton was not acquitted, therefore she CAN still be indicted.
