just saw an add for Western Sky Financial, wasn't really paying much attention but happened to look up and see the "fine print" in the ad..... $5000 loan.........116.73% oh, and a $75 loan fee.

When my wifes Escape got totaled, we were left owing $125, I get the next bill for $125..... OR..... $55 adjusted payment for the remainder of the scheduled payment plan to end in October 2013!!!!!! That would be $1210!!!!! Yeah WTF.... I called to pay over the phone ASAP just in case there was fine print I didn't see. The chick on the phone actually tried to talk me into making payments. I told her I wasn't that stupid and that should be illegal.

Montel Williams says they will shoot you a quick loan... Just to make it till payday! Come on man! If you cant trust Montell, who can you trust?

I have 2 young men in my service department who live on high intrest loans like this. Everything in thier house is "rent to own". Tv's, appliances, computers, etc... It is a cultural thing. a certian segment of society lives like this. They learn it from family. When everything gets taken away, they join the "occupy whatever" movement and wait on a hand out.

I can count on both of them being broke Monday morning and wanting an advance. The word is NO! :shaking:

A friend and I did a paper on Rent A Center a few years back. We tried to see if RAC locations coincide with areas that have low income rates and/or high minority concentrations...we didn't really get the results we wanted, but it was still a cool project.

That Western Sky is crazy. I suppose its not technically predatory lending as everything is there if you read it.
 
The people who run these companies are sleezy buttholes, almost as bad as John Edwards. They know exactly that what they're doing is wrong, but do it anyway to help themselves w/o caring about others at all or our countrys growing debt that this stuff is making worse all the time, how selfish can a person be?. There is a special place in hell for these folks.

oops I did'nt read that, we sure screwed the natives back in the day so I guess that makes this more justified for them to do this today. I'm sure the gubmnt will find a way to stop it though.

admittedly,no, I didn't see that, I looked for "rates" and clicked.

It does make some sense, and explains the Native American spokes person.

I personally have been (post divorce/ambush) broke so bad that I had to sleep on a air matress on the floor of a flea bag apartment. I had to rebuild from scratch. And I mean Scratch. I had to take my time, work 2 jobs and now I am much better off than I ever was before. I never felt intitled to new furniture or big screen tvs. That is the where the disconnect is. These kids will not do with out untill they can pay for it. Floating high intrest loans for junk that wont last untill it is paid off is becoming the new normal. Big Sky and the lot have always been there through out America's history.The only difference is, they used to be called the mob. Now they pay PAC money to the politicians to stay legal. Same guys, just smarter.
