Just traded for this vehicle a few weeks ago, so I'm not real familiar with it yet. A/C doesn't get the air cold, so I put some gauges on it to see if it needed refrigerant. Here is what I found:
1) With engine not running, low pressure side is at 110 psig, high pressure side at 0 psig. (that is crazy I think)
2) With engine running and A/C on max, compressor cycles on and off.
3) With engine running and A/C on max, when compressor cycles on, low press side goes really low, when compressor cycles off, low press side rises to about 60 psig and then the compressor cycles back on.
4) High pressure side is low no matter what.
Instructions with gauges say it could be a faulty compressor. So what should I check next before I replace the compressor?
