ZJ fender flares

I'm looking for some suggestions for ZJ fender flares short of the $450+ bushwacker option. Why, because I managed to stuff the tires up high enough with the wheel turned it pulled/bent the upper fender lip out. I want to avoid wheel well contact so I would like to trim the top of the fender to prevent this in the future but I still want to maintain a clean look.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

there is some made out of Australia that are a hardened fiberglass i will try and find the link, they "say" they are tough. i dont know . i have seen someone custom fab XJ fender flares onto ZJs but that was before bushwacker released the ZJ flares so they most likely paid alot. i honestly think that your best/cleanest bet is to suck it up and get the bushwackers.

The Iceland offroad flares appear to do the job better than the Bushwacker flares. Looking between the two sets on install instructions, only the iceland ones provide any vertical clearance. I was hoping to find a cheap(er) way to keep the ZJ looking nice, for now, but it looks like I'll be spending some money on those unless I find something better/cheaper.
Thanks

I say screw the flares, with longarms, I was able to push my front axle forward, and get my rear to center when compressed, and with proper bumpstops i don't need to trim any metal. Still have 4-5" uptravel in front, and about 6" in rear, but tons of coil unseating droop ( i need limit straps) This is with 35" tires, and about 5"lift now that its settled

I ran BUSHSMACKERS on a B2 several years ago. Unless you have sliders and a exo that hang way out expect to pay alot for something your going to tear off, thats all I accomplished with'em. But they were pretty bling back then! Or at least when I was 20 somthin.:driver:

Our ZJ is, for now, still our DD. It will occasionally see the dirt but we would like to keep it presentable. Also with a RE 4.5 short arm, 3.75 offset wheels, 33x12.5 tires fully compressed with the wheels turned it hits. I have a TJ for real trail abuse and I say I'm building a sammy to abuse as well if time would permit.

I do have sliders and a slightly offset bumper and eventually I will put a exo-cage on this but it will be after it retires from DD status.

x2 i have no trimming and stuff 35's i have the daystar evs bumpstops on my front shocks and the inner lip folded up on the fenders

This was never a problem until I changed to 12.50's from 10.50's. It only hits when the wheel is turned and compressed. I would be running 35's too if I had a long arm suspension but I wasn't going to sink that much $$$ into a DD.
