August CTB ride in Harlan

Only a couple weeks out and I am getting real excited, so who is in, and what size tires are you running? Just trying to see if I am going to be the little guy up there and have to be content to watch all the big guys play.

Hey JC Doug And I are planing on getting there thursday AM and checking things out after we sleep a little. Thanks for letting

us tag along with CTB. I was sure hopping Granny would b there though . What is the best route for us through the mountains?

We will be comming from the SE part of NC between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. Some routes show Boone and others Bristol?

Take 52N out of Winston Salem to I77N to I81S. Get off on exit 57B going toward Kingsport on I26/23N. Take 23/421/58 out of Weber City, VA. Take a left on 421 at the light in Duffield, VA and stay on 421 into Harlan, KY. Take a right on 38 in Harlan, about 8 miles to the campground in Evarts, KY.

I have been every way you can go at one time or another and this is the only way I would consider nowadays.

I went thorugh Boone last time going up there... it was terrible! Came back via I77 and it was much better.

Well it would appear that I cannot make plans to attend distance rides this year. My house AC has died on me and I will be working on it the next few days. Hate I'm going to miss another one. See you at the Fun Caravan.

I am planning on leaving Winston-Salem about 2:30 or 3:00 Thursday afternoon (puts me in Harlan about 7:00), if anyone sees a red dodge extended cab long bed pulling an exo'ed white grand cherokee, that is me!
