00 TJ with rear drums dana 35 rear end. I was told that grand cherokee rear disc assembly for the most part is bolt up, has anyone attempted this yet? And if so do you know of any writeups on the swap? Thanks in advance.

I would think you would be money ahead by finding a matching ratio Explorer 8.8 with discs already on it.
This way you will shore up the weak dana 35 and give you rear discs.

Only running 33 x 1250's and am satisfied with dana 35 for the time being. Thanks for the advice anyway, anyone done this swap have any advice/link to to write up on the swap?

I know sites with writeups for the Dana44 rear end and this swap but not for the 35...generally people dont invest money in conversions on the 35 since it being so prone to failure, hence the others advice and why you will be hard pressed to find anyone who has done it or written about it

you've gotten the "advice"...which is "don't waste your time and money"...

I used the Teraflex kit on my D44...very simple...I think you can use the same kit on the D35, just different method of install...

Thanks Greg, that's an awesome writeup. I came across the parts for this for less than $50 which is what a new drum assembly would roughly cost me. So why not? Drive it til it breaks:huggy:

I have done this swap on my TJ. It is a simple bolt on. If you got the complete ZJ brake set up with ebrake cables and all, its a no brainer. Took me about 2 hours to bolt it up and make new hard lines for the axle, bleed and test drive.
